Sharpening Communities with Food, Care, and Commitment

Sharp Leads Community Engagement for a Greener Future

In recognition of Earth Day, Sharp Canada. proudly organized an Earth Day clean-up at a local park in Mississauga, Ontario.

Equipped with gloves, garbage bags, and a shared sense of purpose, employees joined forces to remove litter and debris, helping to restore and enhance the natural beauty of the space for the community to enjoy. This community engagement initiative reflects Sharp’s ongoing dedication to environmental responsibility and active community engagement.

Team Sharp Canada remains committed to fostering a cleaner, healthier planet—on Earth Day and every day.

Sharp Canada Supports Local and Global Communities Through Food Initiatives

At Sharp Canada, our commitment to corporate social responsibility goes beyond business—we believe in making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. One way we live this value is through our continued support of impactful community food programs, both locally and globally.

In Mississauga, Ontario, we are proud to support Eden Food for Change, an organization dedicated to increasing access to nutritious food with dignity, promoting healthy eating habits, and empowering individuals through education and outreach. Our support includes local food donations and volunteer time from Sharp Canada employees, who help by preparing ready-made meals and sorting food items to serve those in need.

In addition, we’ve recently partnered with Food4Kids Mississauga, a remarkable organization focused on fighting food insecurity, particularly in children. Our team contributed by donating healthy snacks and prepared meals, supporting their mission to ensure that children in our community have consistent access to nutritious food when they need it most. This partnership strengthens our impact in childhood hunger relief.

Our reach also extends globally through our ongoing contributions to Canadian Food for Children, a registered Canadian charity devoted to feeding the world’s most vulnerable populations. With every dollar donated providing up to 20 nutritious meals, Sharp Canada is honoured to play a role in helping combat hunger in some of the world’s poorest regions.

These partnerships reflect our ongoing belief that access to food is a basic human right, and we’re proud to work alongside these organizations to help create healthier, more nourished communities—both at home and abroad.

Sharp Canada Runs for a Cure

Since 2022, Sharp Canada has proudly participated in the CIBC Run for the Cure, standing in solidarity with communities nationwide and taking meaningful action in the awareness and fight against breast cancer.

The CIBC Run for the Cure, Canada’s largest single-day, volunteer-led fundraising event for breast cancer, is a powerful corporate charity event led by the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) in partnership with CIBC. What began in 1992 with just 1,500 participants has grown to over 50,000 people across more than 50 communities—raising between $14–16 million each year to support cancer research and care.

In 2024, our Sharp Canada team raised an inspiring $6,637.20—with $3,637.20 generously contributed by Sharp and Dynabook Canada employees, agents, friends, and family, and $3,000 matched by Sharp Electronics of Canada Ltd.

These employee fundraising initiatives are a testament to our collective commitment. Since first joining the cause, we’ve contributed over $19,000 to this life-changing initiative.

We are deeply grateful to all those who have walked, run, and donated alongside us. Together, we’re making a difference—one step at a time.
